1. John Curtin (1885-1945)

John Curtin was an Australian politician and the 14th Prime Minister of Australia, serving from 1941 until his death in 1945. He was born in Creswick, Victoria, but spent his early years in the small town of Jambinbinnie in Western Australia. Curtin played a prominent role in Australian politics and leadership during World War II, particularly in managing the country's war effort.

2. Albert Facey (1894-1982)

Albert Facey was an Australian writer and World War I veteran. He was born in Maidstone, Victoria, but his family moved to the town of Wickepin in Western Australia, where he spent most of his childhood. Facey is best known for his autobiography, "A Fortunate Life," which provides a detailed account of his difficult early life, experiences during the war, and later achievements. The book has become an Australian classic.

3. Eliza Rogers (born c. 1980)

Eliza Rogers is an Australian journalist and radio presenter. She grew up in the town of Carnamah in the Irwin region of Western Australia. Rogers has worked for various media outlets, including the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), where she served as the rural reporter for ABC Radio National's "Bush Telegraph" program, and the Australian Rural Women's Movement.

4. Wayne Nuttall (born 1950)

Wayne Nuttall is an Australian athlete and former racewalker. He was born in the town of Three Springs in the Irwin region of Western Australia. Nuttall represented Australia in several international athletics events, including the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, where he finished in 11th place in the 20km racewalk event. He also won numerous national titles and set multiple records during his athletic career.

5. Lucy Harper (born 1983)

Lucy Harper is an Australian-born artist and sculptor. She was brought up in Dongara, another town in the Irwin region of Western Australia. Harper's work primarily focuses on nature and the environment, often using recycled materials to create her intricate sculptures. Her works have been exhibited in galleries across Australia and have garnered critical acclaim.

6. Mike Hussey (born 1975)

Mike Hussey is a former Australian cricketer who was born in the coastal town of Mount Lawley in Perth, Western Australia. Although not originally from the Irwin region, Hussey is associated with the area as he started his cricketing career playing for the Northampton District Cricket Club in the nearby town of Northampton. Hussey went on to have an illustrious international career, representing Australia in both Test and One Day International matches.

7. Tony Sage (born 1961)

Tony Sage is an Australian mining magnate and football club owner. He was raised in the town of Dongara in the Irwin region of Western Australia. Sage made his fortune in the mining industry and is the Chairman of Cape Lambert Resources Limited. He is also known for being the owner of Perth Glory FC, a professional soccer team competing in the A-League.
